OPEN HOUSE

Wednesday 29 April 🗓️

Collingham's Open House on Wednesday 29th April 📍 is your chance to experience the college exactly as it is - a normal working day, no staging, no fuss. Students and parents are invited to get a genuine feel for how Collingham teaches and what it actually means to learn here.

  • See the college in action - not a polished showcase, but a real day with real students and teachers doing what they do best.
  • Subject discussions - talk to tutors and students studying the subjects you're interested in knowing more about. Meet some of our specialist teachers who have decades of experience to get a feel for the academic culture and pace.
  • Student experience - current students will offer tours and give honest, first-hand insight into life at Collingham.
  • A more adult experience - with around 160 students, the difference in atmosphere is immediately obvious; students and staff are on first name terms and know each other well.

WHY COLLINGHAM?

A Home For Independent Minds

An independent sixth form and GCSE college in two Kensington townhouses with the atmosphere of a small university department. For the bright, the unconventional, the late-blooming and the deeply curious. There's no "Collingham type" - that's precisely the point. Whether you're a high achiever wanting more intellectual freedom, someone who wants a more adult approach or want a relaxed environment that takes academics seriously, you'll find your fit here.

Small Class Sizes - Big Impact

Our classes are capped at 8. Every student is known and heard. Students are stretched and supported. Seminar-style teaching helps you discuss, debate and work out what you think - not just how to remember. Teachers understand you and and tailor to that. Longer lessons run as genuine intellectual discursive conversations, not information delivery.

Education built around the individual

Our founding principle, still alive today is the belief that success comes by enabling students to find their fit. We change the environment; not the child. If a student isn't thriving, we don't push harder - we think differently.

Subject Specialists & Partners in Success

Our staff excel at A Level teaching; many only teach A Level (and some also teach at university level). Many are also examiners. All are passionate about their subject and your success. You treat them how they treat you. First names. Adult conversations. You'll feel the difference from day one.

Outcomes & Location

Enabling students to reach their desired exits - whether that's Medicine, Law, the Arts, Sport, both in the UK and elsewhere. Not a soft option - a smarter one. Easy access from all areas, right in the heart of London.

50 Years+ of Excellence

A successful formula for over 50 years with plenty of positive praise from students, staff and parents. Positive feedback from ISI INspection (Jan26), Good Schools Guide and Muddy Stilettos - and more.
